thinking back

when i think of it,
maybe i should have just concentrated on swimming and lifesaving.
initially i wanted to do that,
but i was held back by the post and responsibilities in my hands.

i met up with tpls mates a few days back.
gosh i miss those time
where we train till 9pm and head to 'ang keong' for dinner
and train on sundays at sentosa.

on the other hand,
i don't see myself missing organising events.
but the very close friends i've made made it worthwhile.

WORK

this month's roster is PACKED to the maximum hours.
imagine
CAN
MFM
CAN
CRK
MFM

4 out of 5 flights reporting at 5am+
back to back.

that's why its true when people say that
being a cabin crew, you have to give up on your social life.
I am not someone who would verbalize my thoughts,
so when i don't show care and concern,
it does not mean so.

maybe it is beacause of the way I grew up.
during that period, i appeared to be happy everyday just so that I do not get people asking me 'are you ok?' frequently.
Over time, perhaps I got used to it.

SEP RECURRENT

Safety and Emergency Procedures Recurrent was fun!
Seeing Seng Hock again, his way of confusing us.
First aid, choking, CPR, jumping slides, shouting commands, role play - firefighting etc.

its my last time doing a recurrent.

youths of today

A few days ago, I came across 3 secondary school students challenging each other to a 'One-On-One' fight after school.
It was merely because 1 of them had accidentally brushed against the other 2 while walking.
and this happened at 7AM.

Below is an extract of their heated argument in English.

'Oi! Want to fight ar?'
'Sorry!'
'Sorry for what?! Fight one-on-one if you have got balls la!'
'No balls ar? Which gang you belong to?'
'Scared for what! Come, 2pm at Level 5 carpark'

and the argument goes on. .

What have our youths of today become?
What's with triads and all?
Perhaps because they provide a sense of security,
or rather 'Brotherhood' in layman terms.

But does fighting really solves the problem?

A classic example:

A typical beng walking down the road with his girfriend.
When another guy takes notice of the girfriend,
the typical beng would go
'oi! kua si mi!/see what see! want to fight is it?!'

are you showing off your musculity in front of her or trying to 'protect' her?
what a way to do so.

Its just a cycle.
When ordinary youths observes their peers and
deems that fighting over small matters is 'cool',
they join in to be 'beng wannabes'
Maybe its because they want to protect their weak self from being exposed.
Many a time, I come across 'bengs' who are only putting up a brave, fierce front so that they do not get bullied.

How will they be when they grow up?
Some grow out of it, but there's a minority that do not.

i don't really fancy sms-ing.
maybe its because i have over 3700 msgs in my phone
which slows the sms-ing process down.
CSP course was worth the time. :)
now back to flying,
hopefully putting it to good use.

hongkong morning flight tommorrow.
macau followed by shenzhen.

-we are the one in full control of our emotions, whether we are angry, sad or happy, its ultimately our choice. It's not for others to control-

maybe i've changed a lot since graduation.
